(WCTV\/Florida Capital Bureau) &#8211; The State of Florida is trying new methods to ensure people are prepared for the upcoming hurricane season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Chief Financial Officer, Blaise Ingoglia, announced on Tuesday that he\u2019s sending crews door-to-door. His staff will pass out information about how to prepare for a storm and what to do in the aftermath. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The information will also include important numbers about utilities and how to spot and report fraud.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-center\">Florida politics:<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Ingoglia says it is important to prepare residents before a potentially life-threatening storm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe spend a lot of money, a lot of time, and a lot of resources putting our communities back together after a storm,\u201d he said. \u201cI think we need to start a more proactive role in this to mitigate this to where it\u2019s not costing endlessly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Hurricane season begins June 1.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WCTV.
