TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Former Tallahassee Mayor Dot Inman-Johnson is running to get back on the city commission, challenging incumbent Commissioner Dianne Williams-Cox.<\/p>\n
Inman-Johnson is the founder of Citizens for Government Accountability, a city hall watchdog group, and is a plaintiff in a lawsuit seeking to overturn the city\u2019s fire services fee.<\/p>\n
However, Inman-Johnson previously directly denied she would ever seek office again.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t ever plan to run for office again,\u201d Inman-Johnson said in January<\/a>.<\/p>\n More Tallahassee news:<\/p>\n Now, she\u2019s citing the FSU Health partnership, the sale of the Capital City Country Club and what she calls \u201cCity Hall self-dealing.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not willing to let Dianne Williams-Cox be re-elected without a meaningful challenge. City Hall is in disarray; it\u2019s clear we are going to need stability and ethical leadership in Seat 5 to guide our City through this interim period,\u201d said Inman-Johnson in the press release. \u201cI\u2019m willing to serve one term and make sure the transition is successful.\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier this week, Joe Kalicki dropped out<\/a> of the seat five race. <\/p>\n Bernard Michael Stevens and Tifany Hill are also seeking seat five<\/a>.
