{"id":260979,"date":"2026-05-06T19:02:10","date_gmt":"2026-05-06T19:02:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/260979\/"},"modified":"2026-05-06T19:02:10","modified_gmt":"2026-05-06T19:02:10","slug":"dog-in-animal-cruelty-case-has-passed-away","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/260979\/","title":{"rendered":"Dog in Animal Cruelty Case has Passed Away"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                                <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/1zxncelc4ss9.jpg\" alt=\"Dog in Animal Cruelty Case has Passed Away\" class=\"pr-3 pb-3\" aria-label=\"Dog in Animal Cruelty Case has Passed Away\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The Hillsborough County Sheriff\u2019s Office is providing an update regarding the animal cruelty investigation that led to the arrest of Imania Davis, 33.<\/p>\n<p>On April 30, 2026, around 8:20 p.m., Real Time Crime Center cameras observed Davis throwing a dog not once, but twice, forcefully causing him to hit the asphalt. The video also showed Davis kicking the dog.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies responded and transported the dog to a veterinarian, where he was treated for a broken leg and received emergency medical care.<\/p>\n<p>Despite ongoing efforts from the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center and its veterinary staff, the dog later passed away.<\/p>\n<p>Davis was previously arrested on six charges of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals. Detectives are working with the State Attorney\u2019s Office regarding any additional charges that may be applicable following the dog\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a deeply upsetting case that has impacted our entire community,\u201d\u00a0said\u00a0Sheriff Chad Chronister.\u00a0\u201cWhat this innocent animal endured was cruel, violent, and unacceptable.
