Moody is now running in the special election to serve the final two years of the six-year term. “I was one of the most productive freshmen members,\u201d Sen. Moody told WESH 2. \u201cI got legislation off the Senate floor signed by the president, and in a very short timeframe, I’m already achieving wins from the Space Coast to our families.”Sen. Moody is a firm supporter of President Donald Trump\u2019s agenda. She\u2019s touting the tax cuts in the One Big Beautiful Bill.”We need to make sure that people know where they’re working on their behalf,\u201d Moody said, \u201cand that means making sure we have a strong economy, protecting the safety and health of our kids, making sure that government truly is keeping money in the pockets of working Americans.”Florida\u2019s former attorney general said she has the endorsements of 64 sheriffs, including Chris Blackmon from Osceola County, who joined her Wednesday afternoon at Blackburn\u2019s BBQ restaurant in Eagle Lake.”It has meant the world to me to have the support of the brave men and women that wear a badge,\u201d Mood said. According to the latest poll from Emerson College, Moody is the favored candidate against potential Democratic challengers in November. She has a 46% to 38% edge over Ret. Lt. Col. Alex Vindman and a 47% to 36% lead over State Rep. Angie Nixon from Jacksonville.\u201cThis is a violation of the constitution,\u201d Nixon shouted into a bullhorn last week during a protest on the state House floor before lawmakers approved new congressional districts along party lines.Vindman delivered key testimony during the first impeachment of President Trump in 2019 for allegations he pressured Ukraine to investigate his political rivals.”You couldn\u2019t have a starker contrast between my biography, what I have delivered for this country, and Ashley Moody, who is just there and was selected to be an automatic yes vote,” Vindman said.Moody is hoping to keep a Democrat from winning a U.S. Senate race in the Sunshine State for the first time since Bill Nelson 14 years ago.”You either have a guy that just moved to Florida after having tried to sabotage the President of the United States, or you have a Democrat that thinks the best way to get to the Senate is standing on the state House floor screaming through a bullhorn,” Moody said.Vindman outraised Moody in the first quarter of this year with $8.2 million compared to the $3.8 million raised by her two political committees.
