Brevard Sheriff<\/p>\n<p>The \u201csuper speeder\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/goswerve.com\/floridas-new-super-speeder-law-what-drivers-need-to-know-about-the-100-mph-misdemeanor-rule\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">was charged with operating a vehicle above 100 mph<\/a>, a misdemeanor that carries up to 30 days in jail, $500 in fines, and potentially a license suspension in Florida.<\/p>\n<p>The sharply-dressed driver said he was heading to a wedding and was running late, the sheriff said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cChristopher Jones was dressed to impress as he was on his way to a wedding and of course, was running late!!\u201d the Brevard County Sheriff\u2019s office<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DX2yC8TDUwC\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;ig_rid=19a01900-ff6f-40a6-88d8-47838e4f4d54\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> wrote in an Instagram post.<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>The sheriff poked fun at Jones, suggesting that \u201cthe only party Jones was going to attend was at Ivey\u2019s Iron Bar Lodge, and from what we\u2019ve heard, it\u2019s a real bore!!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.50810015;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"39302866\" width=\"890\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/brevard-sheriff.jpg\" alt=\"Brevard Sheriff patrol car at sunset.\" class=\"wp-image-39302866\"  \/>The Brevard County Sheriff took Christopher Jones into custody on May 2. Brevard Sheriff<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cIvey\u2019s Iron Bar Lodge\u201d is a reference to Brevard County\u2019s jail, which operates under the auspices of Sheriff Wayne Ivey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGreat job by Deputy Sanchez for helping keep Brevard county safe and we\u2019ll see ya next time (because we know there will be another one) on Super Speeder Saturday!!\u201d the statement continued. <\/p>\n<p>Speeding and aggressive driving caused 38,851 crashes in 2023, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flhsmv.gov\/pdf\/crashreports\/crash_facts_2023.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Hope he\u2019s not the best man.
