The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said three people were detained following the shooting at Midtown Lodge & Golden Ox Lounge.<\/p>\n

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 A man died early Thursday morning after a reported shooting at a motel on Philips Highway, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n

Around 3 a.m., JSO Sgt. Saunders said officers responded to the Midtown Lodge motel in the 4100 block of Philips Highway in reference to reports of multiple gunshots.<\/p>\n

When officers arrived on scene, they reportedly found the victim with several injuries. Paramedics arrived shortly after, Saunders said, and pronounced the man dead.<\/p>\n

According to Saunders, three people were detained.<\/p>\n

“Based on the facts we know at this time, this does appear to be isolated,” Saunders said. “We don’t know exactly what happened, we’re still in the process of going through the video surveillance and everything. It appears as though there is one particular room and something out in the parking lot. We don’t know exactly where everything happened just yet.”<\/p>\n
