Universal Orlando has confirmed the closure of two restaurants inside Islands of Adventure theme park and a change in hot-dog offerings at Universal CityWalk.

Mythos, a table-service restaurant, will shut down in 2027 as part of the phased closing of Lost Continent in favor of a new (but not yet announced) themed area. It wil turn into a newly themed “signature full-service restaurant” and is expected to open next year. The space is adjacent to the splashdown area of Jurassic Park River Adventure, which is currently closed for refurbishment.

Lost Continent, Mythos and Thunder Falls Terrace were all part of IOA’s opening-day lineup in 1999.

The removal of Lost Continent has been years in the unmaking. Part of the original land was absorbed by the original Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which opened in 2010. It once featured “The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad” stunt show, which closed in 2018, and Poseidon’s Fury, a darkened walk-through experience with special effects, which was shuttered permanently in 2023. In September, Universal Orlando said construction work was moving forward in the Lost Continent area, but it did not reveal a theme or a timeline.
