The 48-year-old has an arrest history in the county dating back to at least 1995 and has spent <a href=\"https:\/\/pubapps.fdc.myflorida.com\/offenderSearch\/detail.aspx?Page=Detail&amp;DCNumber=M20521&amp;TypeSearch=IR\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/pubapps.fdc.myflorida.com\/offenderSearch\/detail.aspx?Page=Detail&amp;DCNumber=M20521&amp;TypeSearch=IR\">multiple stints<\/a> in state prison after convictions for burglary and grand theft.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/espanol\/2026\/05\/07\/policia-de-south-miami-busca-a-sospechoso-de-robo-descrito-como-criminal-reincidente\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/espanol\/2026\/05\/07\/policia-de-south-miami-busca-a-sospechoso-de-robo-descrito-como-criminal-reincidente\/\">Leer en espa\u00f1ol<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThis individual is a career criminal. And when I say \u2018career criminal\u2019 \u2015 he\u2019s been arrested so many times,&#8221; South Miami Police Department Sgt. Fernando Bosch said. \u201cHe\u2019s got more than 34 pages of criminal history.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Now, SMPD is asking for help looking for Gervais in connection with yet another burglary.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police said Gervais\u2019 latest crime happened at around 3 a.m. on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Investigators said surveillance video shows him walking through a parking garage at 5950 SW 74th St. and \u201cattempting to open the doors of two vehicles before entering the victim\u2019s vehicle through the driver\u2019s side door.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/5X5ICZNI2VFKRJJVD2QAOPLDTY.jpg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"450\"\/>Photo Walter Tyson Gervais&#8217; Florida Department of Corrections mugshot (left) and partial Miami-Dade County arrest history (right).
