SFYS previously won top honors at the festival in 2019 and captured Gold at the Heritage Music Festival in Washington, D.C., in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur young musicians performed spectacularly,\u201d said Marjorie J. Hahn, SFYS executive and music director. \u201cBeyond the performance, they were exposed to a wide range of international music, formed lasting friendships with peers from around the world and experienced a historic venue firsthand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hahn shared conducting responsibilities during the international tour with SFYS associate conductor Richard A. Zogaib, along with Dr. Alberto Bade, adjunct professor of the Miami Dade College Film Score Orchestra and Lowell R. Thomas, SFYS director of winds.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-596923\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Winners-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"410\" height=\"547\"  \/>The South Florida Youth Symphony poses on the steps of the National House Vinohrady following their Gold Medal-winning performance at the Young Bohemia Prague 2026 music festival.<\/p>\n<p>More than 1,000 musicians from across the globe participated in the festival, with SFYS serving as the sole representative from the United States.
