(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysuncoast.com\/2026\/05\/06\/puppy-seen-video-being-abused-tampa-has-died-its-injuries\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.mysuncoast.com\/2026\/05\/06\/puppy-seen-video-being-abused-tampa-has-died-its-injuries\/\">WWSB<\/a>\/Gray News) &#8211; A dog that a Florida woman was accused of throwing and kicking has died, the Hillsborough County Sheriff\u2019s Office announced.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Imania Davis, 33, was arrested and charged with six counts of aggravated cruelty to animals. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Deputies said the Tampa woman was recorded on a security camera the night of April 30 picking up the small dog by the scruff of the neck and throwing him onto a road into a mobile home park. When the dog ran back to her, she allegedly kicked him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThis dog was only seeking love and attention and affection,\u201d Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a press conference.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to deputies, Davis then threw the animal about 10 feet. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The dog initially survived, treated by a veterinarian for a broken leg, before ultimately succumbing to its injuries, the sheriff\u2019s office said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Deputies confirmed the department was working with the attorney general\u2019s office to see if any other charges would be applicable following the death of the dog.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WWSB via Gray Local Media, Inc.
