<\/p>\nSummer at SeaWorld Orlando is getting a major nighttime upgrade in 2026 with the expanded return of Electric Ocean, new nighttime animal shows, a new drone spectacular, and the debut of Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice later this summer.<\/p>\n

Beginning June 12, SeaWorld shifts heavily into after-dark entertainment with glowing dance parties, cirque performances, drones, fireworks, and nighttime animal presentations designed to keep guests in the park later than usual.<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s what\u2019s new, what\u2019s returning, and what\u2019s actually worth staying late for if you\u2019re visiting with younger kids.<\/p>\n
What\u2019s new at SeaWorld Orlando this summer<\/p>\n
SeaWorld Orlando\u2019s summer event kicks off on June 12, 2026, and continues on select nights until Sept. 7, 2026. SeaWorld has not yet announced the full operating schedule for Electric Ocean\u2019s summer entertainment lineup, but the offerings usually take place on Friday and Saturday evenings.<\/p>\n
Nighttime animal presentations for the first time in years<\/p>\n
One of the biggest additions this summer is the return of nighttime animal shows, something longtime SeaWorld fans<\/a> have missed for years. It is especially exciting that all three nighttime shows will be presented during the same summer event this year. <\/p>\n The new lineup includes:<\/p>\n \u201cShamu Celebration: Light Up The Night\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSea Lions Tonite\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cDolphins: Touch the Sky\u201d<\/p>\n Each presentation adds lighting, music, and a more energetic nighttime atmosphere while still centering around the animals themselves. Over the years, SeaWorld Orlando\u2019s animal presentations<\/a> have been dialed back to remove much of the entertainment and show factor of yesteryear. These nighttime presentations bring back a touch of theatrics without going overboard.<\/p>\n A new drone spectacular debuts<\/p>\n SeaWorld is also introducing an all-new drone show featuring hundreds of synchronized drones forming glowing sea creatures and ocean scenes in the night sky. A drone show debuted last year<\/a> at SeaWorld Orlando, and a longer production is debuting at SeaWorld San Diego this year. <\/p>\n Attractions Magazine reached out to SeaWorld Orlando representatives to see if any details about this year\u2019s show could be provided.<\/p>\n The drone sequence leads into Ignite, the park\u2019s returning fireworks finale.<\/p>\n Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice opens later this summer<\/p>\n SeaWorld also confirmed \u2018Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice<\/a>\u2018 will open sometime this summer, though an exact date has not yet been announced. The attraction is themed around a scientific mission exploring extreme environments shaped by fire and ice.<\/p>\n What\u2019s returning this summer<\/p>\n Club SeaGlow is back<\/p>\n Club SeaGlow<\/a> returns to Bayside Stadium with DJs, glowing performers, dancing, and family-focused party energy. It is mostly a big dance party, but the atmosphere is hard to beat, especially when the glowing aquatic puppets come out to join the party.<\/p>\n This is usually one of the better late-night options for kids who still have energy after dinner.<\/p>\n Ignite fireworks return<\/p>\n Ignite returns this summer with fireworks, fountains, lighting, and music around SeaWorld\u2019s central lagoon. This year\u2019s version continues to be enhanced by a drone sequence beforehand.<\/p>\n Hydro Surge cirque show opens<\/p>\n A new indoor cirque-style production called \u201cHydro Surge\u201d is returning in Nautilus Theater this summer. The show combines acrobatics, dancers, percussion, and industrial ocean-inspired visuals inside an air-conditioned theater, which could make it one of the park\u2019s most useful summer escape options during peak heat.<\/p>\n Personally, Hydro Surge<\/a> blew me away during its debut last year. I did not expect it to impress me in the way that it did and I hope I get to see it again this year.<\/p>\n If you have little kids, what\u2019s actually worth staying late for?<\/p>\n Not every nighttime offering is equally worth the inevitable exhausted end-of-night meltdown.<\/p>\n The best strategy for families with younger kids may be staying late enough for the nighttime animal presentations and Club SeaGlow \u2014 but not necessarily pushing all the way to fireworks.<\/p>\n Worth staying for<\/p>\n For most families with little kids, the best late-night experiences are:<\/p>\n The nighttime dolphin and sea lion presentations<\/p>\n Club SeaGlow dance party<\/p>\n Riding attractions after sunset<\/p>\n Seeing the park lighting and atmosphere after dark<\/p>\n Probably skippable for younger kids<\/p>\n The new drone and Ignite fireworks finale will likely be impressive visually, but families with very young children may not find the late finish worth it after a full summer park day.<\/p>\n Unlike Magic Kingdom-style nighttime spectaculars that anchor an entire park day, SeaWorld\u2019s fireworks tend to work better as a bonus ending rather than the must-do centerpiece of the experience. For some families, leaving shortly after the nighttime animal shows may be best to keep the peace.<\/p>\n More summer fun in Orlando<\/p>\n Beyond SeaWorld itself, there is plenty more fun during summer in Orlando<\/a>, including water parks and nighttime attractions.
