(WSVN) &#8211; Two Broward school employees were arrested for allegedly hosting an illegal tournament for profit.<\/p>\n<p>Brandon Wesley and Cedric Smith faced a judge on charges of organized scheme to defraud and grand theft.<\/p>\n<p>According to deputies, the duo rented out a gym and held basketball tournaments without proper approval, while making a profit from it.<\/p>\n<p>Four other Broward school employees were arrested for <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/broward\/2-broward-county-coaches-bond-out-of-jail-after-making-court-appearance-on-fraud-charges\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/broward\/2-broward-county-coaches-bond-out-of-jail-after-making-court-appearance-on-fraud-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">similar crimes earlier this year.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The tournament allegedly took place at schools, including Coral Springs High and Hollywood Hills High.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 Sunbeam Television Corp.
