BLOOMINGTON, Ind.- The RedHawks traveled to Indiana University to compete in the Billy Hayes Invite Friday. Mia Boule<\/a> vaulted a school record of 4.20m in the pole vault event. Ben Riegel<\/a> threw the third-furthest hammer ever for a RedHawk with a mark of 60.00m. Ella Garvin<\/a> jumped the third-highest in high jump in Miami program history. Blake Presley<\/a> threw the sixth-furthest all time Miami hammer throw.<\/p>\n

HOW IT HAPPENED\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0In javelin, Clark Helgason<\/a> was second with 53.39m and CJ Johnson Jr.<\/a> took fourth with a mark of 47.90m.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Mia Boule<\/a> vaulted a school record of 4.20m, taking second place in the meet. Emily Eterovich<\/a> took fourth with a height of 3.89m.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Allie Melchiorre<\/a> and Maggie Dougherty<\/a> swept first and second in javelin with marks of 42.72m and 42.69m, respectively.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Kate Hallie<\/a> threw 50.44m for sixth place in hammer throw, Sharron Kagan<\/a> threw 48.81m for eighth place, Kristen Berwanger<\/a> threw 45.92m for 10th place and Sophia Ili<\/a> threw 38.12m for 11th place.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0 \u00a0 Riegel and Presley took fourth and fifth place in hammer with throws of 60.00m and 59.90m, respectively. Gabe Asbury<\/a> placed seventh with 56.66m and Owen Billeter<\/a> placed 11th with 53.26m. Riegel now ranks third on Miami’s all-time list in hammer, while Presley is sixth.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0In high jump, Mac Burley<\/a> tied for third with a height of 1.93m and Nate Hollingsworth<\/a> took fifth with the same mark.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0In shot put, Hallie threw 14.17m for fourth place. Ava Luczak<\/a>, Ili and Caroline Kagy<\/a> took ninth, 10th and 11th places with throws of 12.31m, 11.87m and 11.03m.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0In discus, Reilly Worthington<\/a> and Billeter took third and fourth places with throws of 47.42m and 46.58m, respectively. Richard Obioha<\/a> placed 11th for 37.11m.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Kylie Adams<\/a> (5.50m) took fifth and Maya Reed<\/a> (5.39) took seventh in long jump.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Kirk Knecht<\/a> was third in men’s long jump with a bound of 6.82m.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0 \u00a0 Garvin was the high jump champion with a jump of 1.78m, tying the third-highest all-time jump for a RedHawk.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0In men’s shot, Riegel threw the furthest of the RedHawks with a mark of 17.22m for third place and Presley took fourth with a throw of 17.21. Worthington and David Lorek<\/a> finished in sixth and eighth places with throws of 16.54m and 16.38m.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Hallie was the discus champion with a mark of 49.01m. Berwanger threw 42.89m for fifth and Kagy threw 42.17m for seventh.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0The RedHawks took fifth, sixth and eighth in the 100m hurdles. Madison Berger<\/a> finished with a time of 15.18, Garvin with a time of 15.78 and Adams with a time of 16.33.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0In the 110m hurdles, Broderick Brittle<\/a> took seventh with a time of 15.04.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0The women’s 4x100m relay team of Camryn Dunn<\/a>, Riley Betz<\/a>, Maya Reed<\/a> and Lauren Jessup-Aiken<\/a> won with a time of 46.36 seconds.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0The team of Mitchell Wiemuth<\/a>, Rondale Carridine<\/a>, Remy Schulz<\/a> and Jayson Harrison<\/a> took fifth with a time of 41.70 seconds in the 4x100m relay.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0In the 1500m, Monica Guijarro<\/a> took third with a time of 4:33.88, Linda Conchetto<\/a> took sixth with a time of 4:38.40, Grace Streek<\/a> finished in seventh with a time of 4:39.55 and Cara Naas<\/a> finished with a time of 4:35.17 for 11th.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Josh Razor<\/a> finished with a time of 3:52.69 for seventh and Ben Fahnestock<\/a> ran a 3:52.95 for ninth in the men’s 1500m.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Adrian Stechschulte<\/a> and Luke Mussard<\/a> ran the 800m, crossing the line with times of 1:52.97 and 1:53.75, respectively.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Keena Sanders<\/a> was the first RedHawk to cross the finish line in the 400 in 56.86 seconds. She was followed by Rachel Smith<\/a> in 56.96 seconds, Olivia Cebalo<\/a> in 57.62 seconds, Sophia Scavuzzo<\/a> in 59.92 seconds and Addison Smith<\/a> in 1:01.35.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Micah Schuster<\/a> ran the 400 and placed sixth with a time of 48.59 seconds.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Betz, Dunn and Jessup-Aiken took fourth, fifth and sixth in the 100m, with Betz and Dunn tying down to the hundredth of a second with times of 11.991 and 11.997 seconds. Jessup-Aiken crossed the finish line in 12.24, and Katelyn Pratt<\/a> finished the 100m with a time of 12.82.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0In the men’s 100m, Carridine ran a 10.70, placing fifth. Harrison had a time of 10.88, Schulz had a time of 11.11 and Wiemuth had a time of 11.33.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0In the women’s 800 invite, Avery Emerson<\/a> ran the third fastest time in school history of 2:06.16 and Eve Traficanti<\/a> ran a time of 2:09.65.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0In the women’s 400m hurdles, Mae Reed<\/a> took fourth finishing in 1:02.55, Berger took eighth with 1:03.98 and Sydney Harmon<\/a> took 11th with a time of 1:13.23.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Josh Mikulka<\/a> finished the 400m hurdles in seventh place,\u00a0posting a time of\u00a054.73.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0In the 200m, Betz (24.64) took third, Dunn (24.78) took fifth and Pratt (26.54) took 11th.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Nora Zubillaga<\/a> competed in the 1500m invite, finishing in ninth place with a time of 4:32.24.\u00a0

\n\u25cf\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0In the men’s 1500m invite, Tom Heal<\/a> finished the race in 3.46.49 for seventh place.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\nThe RedHawks will travel to Muncie, Ind. next weekend to compete in the MAC Championships at Ball State University from May 14-16.
