The \u201cMortal Kombat II\u201d cast can handle high kicks, epic stunts and some pretty brutal fight scenes. From roundhouse kicks to dodging punches, the stars may know how to finish off their opponents. But can they handle the dance floor? Deco\u2019s professional dancer Alex Miranda finds out what moves they haven\u2019t mastered off-camera.<\/p>\n
The \u201cMortal Kombat\u201d cast may know how to bust a guy\u2019s face open, but do they know how to bust a move?<\/p>\n
Deco asked the cast if all of that choreographed fight training made them secretly good dancers.<\/p>\n
The answers came fast and with confidence.<\/p>\n
Martyn Ford: \u201cOh yeah, tap!\u201d<\/p>\n
Johannes Taslim: \u201cI think I can dance hip hop, R&B. A little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n
Martyn Ford: \u201cYeah, with the lights off.\u201d<\/p>\n
And others, not so confident.<\/p>\n
Karl Urban: \u201cListen, a man has got to know his limitations. Dancing is not my forte.\u201d<\/p>\n
Aw, come on Karl Urban, you can master roundhouse kicks but a two-step is where you draw the line?<\/p>\n
Karl Urban: \u201cIt\u2019s a highly violent \u2018Dancing with the Stars.’\u201d<\/p>\n
Josh Lawson: \u201cYeah, by the way, that\u2019s a really good idea for a show.\u201d<\/p>\n
Josh Lawson, who plays Kano in the film, said fight choreography and dancing aren\u2019t that different.<\/p>\n
Josh Lawson: \u201cI\u2019m not a good dancer but I have a good memory. So I\u2019m good at remembering a sequence of moves. I would say that I\u2019m good at, so not a great dancer.\u201d<\/p>\n
Someone has to believe in their skills. Ludi Lin, what do you think?<\/p>\n
Ludi Lin: \u201cWe\u2019re either great dancers or we work really hard.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mehcad Brooks: \u201cI think both.\u201d<\/p>\n
That\u2019s the spirit! <\/p>\n
After dance moves, things quickly turned to all things Miami. Like, where would an iconic fight scene take place if \u201cMortal Kombat\u201d was going down in the 305?<\/p>\n
Mehcad Brooks: \u201cAs a kid, I loved the fight scene in \u2018Bad Boys\u2019 at the night club!\u201d<\/p>\n
Ludi Lin: \u201cOh, I was going to say night club!\u201d<\/p>\n
Mehcad Brooks: \u201cI thought that was such a cool situation. I\u2019m waiting in my career to have an incredible, epic fight scene in a night club with a thousand people.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jessica McNamee: \u201cI mean, we can find a good Cuban salsa bar somewhere, right? In Miami?\u201d<\/p>\n
Mehcad Brooks: \u201cShove a cigar in somebody face!\u201d<\/p>\n
Jessica McNamee: \u201cRight down their throat.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mehcad Brooks: \u201cExactly.\u201d<\/p>\n
Most of the actors performed their own stunts in the film, so Jessica McNamee and Mehcad Brooks left the set with bruises. Karl Urban didn\u2019t get hurt, but did say it was physically challenging.<\/p>\n
\u201cMortal Kombat II\u201d is in theaters now.<\/p>\n
