PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. \u2013 102 passengers on the Caribbean Princess have become sick with Norovirus according to the CDC.<\/p>\n
An additional 13 crew members are also sick.<\/p>\n
The Princess cruise ship is on a 13-day trip that originated at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale and is scheduled to arrive in Port Canaveral on Monday, May 11.<\/p>\n
During the 13-day journey the ship made stops in the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Aruba, St. Maarten, Curacao, and Bonaire. <\/p>\n
The most common symptoms among those who have become sick are diarrhea and vomiting.<\/p>\n
According to the CDC, Princess Cruises and the crew aboard the ship reported the following actions:<\/p>\n
Increased cleaning and disinfection procedures according to their outbreak prevention and response plan<\/p>\n
Collected stool specimens from gastrointestinal illness cases for testing<\/p>\n
Isolated ill passengers and crew<\/p>\n
Consulted with CDC\u2019s Vessel Sanitation Program about sanitation cleaning procedures and reporting ill cases<\/p>\n
