TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Some beneficial rain has fallen across the Big Bend and South Georgia this afternoon. Totals so far range from 0.5\u2033 to 2.5\u2033 as of 3:30 p.m. There are still some communities that haven\u2019t seen a drop of rain despite the high probability. <\/p>\n

Below is a map of where the rain fell:<\/p>\n

\"TheThe highest rain totals have been in South Georgia. While some spots have failed to pick up a drop of rain.(WCTV)<\/p>\n

The blue shade is between 1 and 2\u2033, green is under an inch. There are a few spots in southern Jefferson, southern Leon and much of Taylor County that have not gotten rain yet.<\/p>\n

More rain tonight<\/p>\n

Additional showers and a few storms remain possible through the evening and early overnight hours. There may be a temporary period of steady light rain for the area until midnight, before showers start to diminish in coverage for Sunday morning. Temperatures will likely stay in the mid 60s through the overnight. <\/p>\n

Mother\u2019s Day rain<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Sunday is one of those days where pinpointing where exactly storms will develop is going to be like throwing darts blindfolded. Showers will randomly pop throughout the day, so be ready for a shower or storm at any point during your Mother\u2019s Day. I feel confident that rain will NOT be as widespread as it was today for you on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\"ScatteredScattered rain and a few storms on Mother’s Day. This will not be as rainy as Saturday was for many.(WCTV)<\/p>\n

It may be best to have backup plans to be indoors just in case outdoor plans get impacted by the rain. Highs may reach into the 80s if we can break the clouds a bit. If clouds stay thick, we will be stuck in the 70s again on Sunday. <\/p>\n

As for boating conditions, the waters will be smooth with only light winds nearshore around 5 knots. Not a bad morning or afternoon to be on the waters, but be sure to check the radar and be back with us tomorrow morning to avoid running into storms on the Gulf.<\/p>\n

Monday morning will be mild with temperatures near 70 as you head out the door. Temperatures will slowly climb into the low 80s before a cold front arrives midday. The front will bring numerous showers and thunderstorms to the area. Heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds look to be the biggest impacts from these storms. <\/p>\n

\"AA chance for showers and storms on Monday.(WCTV)<\/p>\n

Right now, the severe weather risk looks pretty low, but there is a marginal (level 1\/5) risk for the Big Bend and South Georgia for the possibility of a few strong storms. <\/p>\n

Some showers linger into your Tuesday, along with low-lying stratus clouds. If the thick clouds stick around, we will be stuck in the 70s most of the day. A tiny rain chance in the morning hours. <\/p>\n

Clearing throughout the week<\/p>\n

Skies start to clear through the middle and end of next week as drier air starts to filter back in. Partly to mostly sunny through the end of the week. Temperatures will also be on the rise into the upper 80s. Lower humidity and hot conditions may warrant some higher fire danger late next week. We will see how much rainfall impacts the ongoing drought. <\/p>\n
