They were a major part of the family,\u201d said Gregory, the boys\u2019 uncle. <\/p>\n<p>23-year-old Jaheim Pierre and 28-year-old Gianni Pierre were<a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/miami-dade\/1-arrested-after-being-accused-of-killing-2-men-inside-miami-apartment-victims-23-and-28-were-brothers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"> shot and killed a week ago<\/a> while trying to protect their sister. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m talking about they were the life of the party,\u201d said Gregory.  <\/p>\n<p>According to police, the brothers had gone to the apartment at 5329 Northwest 17th Avenue to check on their sister when a dispute with her boyfriend turned deadly. <\/p>\n<p>Investigators say Antwan\u00a0Carter, 31, got a gun from his car and fired at least 10 shots into the apartment, killing the Pierre brothers who were inside. <\/p>\n<p>Their uncle Gregory said the brothers were loyal, fearless, and deeply devoted to the family. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cStayed in the house all day. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, those boys love Jesus,\u201d said Gregory. <\/p>\n<p>While Carter remains behind bars and is now facing two counts of first-degree murder, the family hopes their hole will one day be filled again. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re looking for the love and help, like I said, we got two people that we have to bury.
