TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Demon Deacons will begin their journey to the 2026 NCAA Championship at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, starting May 11 at Seminole Legacy Golf Club, hosted by Florida State.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Wake Forest last competed at the Noles’ home course in 2018, with LPGA Tour professional Jennifer Kupcho claiming the individual title.<\/p>\n
Under the leadership of Tony and Vi Golding head coach Kim Lewellen<\/a>,\u00a0 Wake Forest has finished third or better in their regional appearances, excluding 2020 tournament, which did not take place due to COVID restrictions. In 2025, the Deacs took first-place at the NCAA Lubbock Regional, where they finished four strokes ahead of the field to punch their ticket to California. Four-time All-ACC team member Carolina Chacarra<\/a> (’25) also secured the individual title, her second of the season and fourth of her career with a three-round under-par score of 7-under.\u00a0<\/p>\n Since 2017, the Demon Deacons have had at least one individual finish in the top-10 at each regional, with four of the eight finishers securing the individual title. Wake Forest has appeared in 33 consecutive regionals, dating back to 1993 and excluding 2020. Of those appearances, the Deacs have garnered three regional wins, with back-to-back victories in 1994 and 1995.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Deacs tee off at 8:00 a.m. ET, paired with No. 1-seed Florida and No. 3-seed UCLA. \nTwo Demon Deacons earned All-ACC honors, as announced this past Friday. Junior Macy Pate<\/a> secured her third consecutive conference honor, while sophomore Chloe Kovelesky<\/a> earned her second.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nDespite carding its lowest opening round at the championship in program history, the Demon Deacons fell in the first round of match play at the 2026 ACC Championship. Although the Tar Heels proved to be a difficult opponent in match play, Wake Forest recorded a strong performance during the stroke play portion of the tournament, finishing third prior to match play. Sophomore Chloe Kovelesky<\/a> took third place overall at nine-under (207), tying Siyun Liu (’21) for the third lowest 54-hole score to par.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nThe top five teams (30 teams total) and the low individual not on an advancing team (six individuals total) from each regional site will advance to compete in the national championships to be played May 22-27 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. Championship play will be hosted by Texas, with the final three days of the championships televised live by the GOLF Channel.<\/p>\n
