(NewsNation<\/a>) \u2014 A U.S. Secret Service agent assigned to President Donald Trump\u2019s protective detail was arrested while off duty in Florida for alleged indecent exposure at a Miami hotel.<\/p>\n

According to an arrest report<\/a> obtained by USA Today, John Spillman, 33, was taken into custody May 3 after hotel guests reported that he followed them from the lobby to their room on the sixth floor.<\/p>\n

The women told police they went back to their room \u201cin fear for their lives.\u201d One of them later looked through the door and reported seeing Spillman engaging in a lewd act in the hallway outside.<\/p>\n

Hotel security responded and found Spillman in the hallway with his pants down, according to the report. He was then taken into custody by police.<\/p>\n

Spillman faces a charge of indecent exposure and has been placed on administrative leave.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are aware of the arrest of an off\u2011duty Secret Service officer by the Miami\u2011Dade Sheriff\u2019s Office,\u201d Richard Macauley, chief of the Secret Service\u2019s Uniformed Division, said in a statement<\/a> to NBC6. \u201cThe alleged conduct is unacceptable and stands in stark contrast to the professionalism and integrity that I demand of our personnel.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spillman remained in jail on a $1,000 bond.<\/p>\n
