Florida State<\/a> will open its postseason at home yet again, earning a nine seed in the NCAA softball tournament, and will host a regional in Tallahassee for the 12th straight year.<\/p>\n

The Seminoles (49-8) were awarded the seed when the NCAA bracket was released Sunday, marking their 37th tournament appearance and 26th consecutive berth. Despite winning an ACC regular season championship and ACC tournament title, FSU was passed over for a top-eight seed.<\/p>\n

Florida State enters the postseason on the heels of its 20th ACC championship, clinched Saturday with a 2-1 win over Virginia Tech.<\/a><\/p>\n

Joining the Seminoles in Tallahassee are Stetson (36-20)<\/a>, Jacksonville State (45-14), and UCF (38-16-1)<\/a>. FSU will face Stetson on Friday, May 15 in its first game of the regional at noon on ESPNU.<\/p>\n

The Knights and Jax State will play on Friday at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN+. The winners advance to play on Saturday at noon, while the losers play in an elimination game on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Another elimination game between the loser of Game 3 and winner of Game 4 will be played at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Sunday’s championship game will be played at 12 p.m. and a decisive seventh game will be played at 2:30 p.m., if necessary.<\/p>\n

Florida State is seeking a return to the Women\u2019s College World Ser<\/a>ies for the first time since 2023 and its first national championship since 2018<\/a>. Texas Tech <\/a>eliminated the Seminoles in last year\u2019s super regional.<\/p>\n

Should the Seminoles win the Tallahassee regional, they will face the winner of the regional that features No. 8 UCLA, which FSU beat 11-7 earlier this season. If both FSU and UCLA win, FSU would travel to Los Angeles for the Super Regional.\u00a0<\/p>\n

FSU is one of four schools (FSU, Alabama, Oklahoma, UCLA) to host a regional in each of the last 12 seasons.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The other national seeds at No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Texas, No. 3 Oklahoma, No. 4 Nebraska, No. 5 Arkansas, No. 6 Florida, No. 7 Tennessee, No. 8 UCLA, No. 9 FSU, No. 10 Georgia, No. 11 Texas Tech, No. 12 Duke, No. 13 Oklahoma State, No. 14\u00a0Oregon, No. 15 Texas A&M,\u00a0and No. 16 LSU.<\/p>\n
