<\/a><\/p>\nBig Thunder Mountain reopened on May 3 after being closed for over one year. Several updates were made<\/a>, including a new track, new scenes, and more. It\u2019s also been the first time we\u2019ve been able to get a new vantage point of the nearby construction of Piston Peak National Park, which opens sometime in the next few years.<\/p>\n Just over one week later, new wall panels have appeared in the area, which are taller than the walls we have been seeing. They block guests from seeing the construction from the queue, lift hills, and the areas of the track that are closest to the site.<\/p>\n The construction on the Cars-themed\u00a0area is well underway, named\u00a0Piston Peak National Park and inspired by Pixar Animation Studios film\u00a0Cars\u00a0and real-life national parks, particularly the Rocky Mountains, Yosemite, and Yellowstone.<\/p>\n Piston Peak National Park will include two attractions. One is an off-road\u00a0rally race ride<\/a>, the other will be a more family-friendly attraction.<\/p>\n Crews recently installed more of a retaining wall<\/a> that is rather lengthy, and the Mike Fink dock was also demolished<\/a>.<\/p>\n Were you hoping to see more construction from Big Thunder Mountain?
