Big Al\u2019s has officially closed at Magic Kingdom as Piston Peak construction begins to ramp up in Frontierland.<\/p>\n

Big Al\u2019s and Westward Ho Closing Dates\"Big<\/a><\/p>\n

This morning, May 11, Big Al\u2019s did not reopen with the rest of Frontierland. This lines up with the previous closing date<\/a> we expected. The kiosk has already been removed from the park\u2019s digital map<\/a>, and now the webpage for Big Al\u2019s is also removed from the Walt Disney World website.<\/p>\n

Big Al\u2019s\u00a0was located directly outside Country Bear Musical Jamboree. It began as a ticket booth when Magic Kingdom opened in 1971 before becoming a carving location. It was a gift shop since 1989, selling merchandise like coonskin caps, cowboy hats, and bubble wands. According to the story, it\u2019s Al\u2019s cabin that he turned into a shop to bank on the success of the Country Bears.<\/p>\n

If Big Al\u2019s is demolished<\/a>, the last remaining former ride ticket booths in the park would be the current\u00a0Disney Vacation Club kiosk<\/a>\u00a0in Tomorrowland and a portion of the Memento Mori facade in Liberty Square.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0nearby construction walls<\/a>\u00a0will likely be moved forward into the existing riverwalk area. A pedestrian pathway will be temporarily installed along the promenade for parade viewing and movement during the years of expected construction.<\/p>\n
