United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades and the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels scored a big win for the 90 partner agencies and more than 260 programs supported by United Way. Fans who attended the recent \u201cUnited for a Cause\u201d event at Hammond Stadium at the Lee Health Sports Complex were treated to an exciting Mighty Mussels game, but even more importantly, a portion of ticket sales from the game went to United Way to support their agencies and programs.<\/p>\n

United Way\u2019s campaign theme this year is \u201cUnited is the Way,\u201d and Mighty Mussels players wore custom Star Wars-themed jerseys that were auctioned off after the game to also benefit the nonprofit. The goal for the 2025-2026 annual campaign is $11,512,716.<\/p>\n

Fans also had the opportunity to interact with Star Wars characters throughout the evening as the Mighty Mussels beat the Dunedin Blue Jays 9-2.<\/p>\n

Sponsors for the event included Barraco & Associates, State Insurance USA, Sanibel Captiva Community Bank, McGriff Insurance and Mary Bartoshuk.<\/p>\n
