Jacksonville, Texas (May 6, 2026) \u2014 UT Health Jacksonville earned an \u201cA\u201d Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an \u201cA\u201d, \u201cB\u201d, \u201cC\u201d, \u201cD\u201d or \u201cF\u201d grade to general hospitals across the country using evidence-based measures of patient safety focused exclusively on errors, accidents, injuries and infections.<\/p>\n
\u201cEarning an \u2018A\u2019 grade for the fourth consecutive time reflects the intentional, day-to-day focus our team brings to patient safety,\u201d said UT Health Jacksonville CEO DeLeigh Haley. \u201cThis kind of consistency doesn\u2019t happen by chance, it\u2019s the result of a culture where accountability, teamwork and attention to detail are central to how we care for our patients. I\u2019m incredibly proud of our staff and the standard they set for our community.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.<\/p>\n
