ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 Known in Orlando\u2019s indie music scene as \u201cUncle Lou,\u201d Cleon Williams, 62, remains inside the Orange County Jail Monday, two days after he was booked on an immigration hold.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe just wants to get back there,\u201d Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-10) said Monday.<\/p>\n
During a visit to the jail with other Democratic members of the U.S. House Oversight Committee on Monday, Frost said he was able to speak to Williams.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe told me to give a message to the community that he loves everybody,\u201d Frost said. \u201cHe wants to get back to continuing to help with the art and culture in central Florida.\u201d<\/p>\n

Williams, who is from Jamaica, is the owner of Uncle Lou\u2019s Entertainment Hall, which has been on Mills Avenue for about two decades.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt truly is more of an incubator space than it is a bar,\u201d said Scott White, who owns a tattoo shop across the street and has performed with his band at Uncle Lou\u2019s. \u201cHe\u2019s given a voice to a lot of other people who otherwise couldn\u2019t afford to have a voice to rent venues and do things.\u201d <\/p>\n
News 6 learned Monday that Williams was detained during an operation conducted by the Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (ABT).<\/p>\n
Orlando Police said its officers assisted ABT in the operation regarding possible alcohol ordinance violations at Uncle Lou\u2019s and at a bar next door.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs part of the operation, ABT undercover agents conducted investigative purchases and inspections at both establishments,\u201d OPD\u2019s statement read, in part.<\/p>\n
OPD said one person was arrested during the operation and taken to the Orange County Jail, where an immigration detainer was placed on him by ICE due to an expired visa.<\/p>\n
News 6 reached out to ICE on Monday to try to get more information about Williams\u2019 hold. A spokesperson responded in an email, asking for more information about Williams. He did not, however, respond to a subsequent email from News 6.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf there\u2019s been some kind of license infraction, let\u2019s handle that,\u201d said Susan Oswald. \u201cWe don\u2019t get rid of Uncle Lou.\u201d<\/p>\n
News 6\u2019s Mike Valente encountered Susan and Jeff Oswald on Monday as they approached the bar to admire the signs of support people have taped on the front of the building.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s a friendly guy,\u201d Jeff said. \u201cHe will let anybody take a shot, no matter what your talent level is.\u201d<\/p>\n
Frost said that as of Monday afternoon, Williams had retained a lawyer.<\/p>\n
News 6 has combed through the websites of the Orange County Clerk of Court and the Orange County Jail, but we have not been able to locate any criminal charges associated with Williams\u2019 current detainment.<\/p>\n
