{"id":267862,"date":"2026-05-12T11:31:20","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T11:31:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/267862\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T11:31:20","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T11:31:20","slug":"floridas-physicians-endorse-jon-maples-in-hd-87-rematch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/267862\/","title":{"rendered":"Florida&#8217;s physicians endorse Jon Maples in HD 87 rematch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flmedical.org\/florida\/Florida_Public\/PAC\/Florida_Public\/PAC\/PAC.aspx?hkey=eb55846a-ff9f-404e-9040-8866a84fc2e8\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Florida Medical Association PAC<\/a> is endorsing Republican <a href=\"https:\/\/votemaples.com\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Jon Maples<\/a> in his second swing at House District 87, doubling down on the GOP financial planner who narrowly lost the March Special Election in the Palm Beach County seat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe Florida Medical Association PAC is pleased to continue their strong support of GOP candidate Jon Maples in House District 87,\u201d FMA PAC President Andrew Borom said. \u201cMaples\u2019 understanding of Florida\u2019s priorities as a businessman and community leader make him uniquely qualified to serve in the Florida House of Representatives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Maples said he was honored to have the support.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cTogether, we will support pro-patient health policy in Tallahassee that protects the doctor-patient relationship and makes quality healthcare available for every Florida family,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The endorsement is a re-up. The FMA PAC also backed Maples in the March 24 Special Election to fill the seat vacated by former Republican Rep. Mike Caruso, who resigned in August to become Palm Beach County Clerk and Comptroller. Maples lost that race to Democrat Emily Gregory by roughly 800 votes \u2014 the first time this century a Democrat had taken the coastal Palm Beach district, which includes President Donald Trump\u2019s Mar-a-Lago.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.suarezforflorida.com\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-765695\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Mike-Suarez-Display-Ads-728x90-px.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Maples <a href=\"https:\/\/floridapolitics.com\/archives\/788023-im-not-done-jon-maples-launches-new-hd-87-bid-will-retool-strategy-for-november-race\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">re-filed for the November General Election<\/a> days after the loss, promising a retooled campaign for the rematch against Gregory.
