{"id":268262,"date":"2026-05-12T17:23:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T17:23:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/268262\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T17:23:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T17:23:14","slug":"wildfire-continues-burning-in-southern-miami-dade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/268262\/","title":{"rendered":"Wildfire continues burning in southern Miami-Dade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text text--small text--normal text--primary\">Published:\u00a0May 12, 2026 at 12:43 PM<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">FLORIDA CITY, Fla.  \u2014 The Florida Forest Service\u2019s Everglades field unit continued fighting a wildfire on Tuesday in deep southern Miami-Dade County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The fire near Florida City was 50% contained after burning about 300 acres, <a href=\"https:\/\/ffs.firesponse.com\/public\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/ffs.firesponse.com\/public\/\">according<\/a> to the Florida Forest Service.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Miami-Dade firefighters were also assisting and warned people with respiratory conditions to keep their windows and doors closed and set their air conditioning systems to recirculate. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The fire \u201cdanger\u201d was moderate and the \u201cpotential\u201d high on Tuesday in Miami-Dade, according to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/weather.fdacs.gov\/FDI\/fdi-report.html\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/weather.fdacs.gov\/FDI\/fdi-report.html\">fire danger index report<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Related reports<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Related social media post<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews continue assisting <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FLForestService?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">@FlForestService<\/a> (FFS) in containing the 172 Ave brush fire in Southeast Miami-Dade near SW 344 Street &amp; S Dixie Hwy.
