Flyers have been spread with future events planned in places like Tampa, Sarasota, and St. Petersburg. Similar events have taken place in both Miami and Orlando, leading to arrests.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re going to hold anyone, no matter who they are, accountable, if they\u2019re going to come and wreak havoc in our city,\u201d Bercaw said.<\/p>\n
During Friday\u2019s gathering, sports bar Tampa Burgers & Pirates reported damage, including flipped tables, broken furniture, and more. The business is located across the street from the event at Tampa\u2019s waterfront park.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey come out here, they cause a ruckus, they break our stuff. They kill the rest of our night for our production, and it\u2019s not the best,\u201d said Tony Khouri, the owner of Tampa Burgers & Pirates.<\/p>\n
Khouri told 8 On Your Side that previous events have resulted in rocks being thrown through windows, and an unsafe environment for customers, as well as business-related issues.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve had rocks in the window before. We\u2019ve had people come inside and flip the tables inside. It\u2019s gotten pretty out of control,\u201d Khouri said.<\/p>\n
The Tampa Police Department reminds all who plan on participating in \u201cteen takeovers\u201d that detectives also monitor social media platforms and are aware of planned events.<\/p>\n
