TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Tallahassee\u2019s chapter of 100 Women Who Care has reached more than $600,000 in funding for local nonprofits.<\/p>\n
The group started in November 2020 and now has 260 members.<\/p>\n
They meet four times a year, and at each meeting they vote on a local nonprofit to donate to that quarter.<\/p>\n
Over the past six years, the organization has donated to dozens of nonprofits.<\/p>\n
Founder Virginia Glass said it has been a true joy to see the organization grow and directly impact the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, it\u2019s just been a ripple effect that has reached throughout the county pretty much,\u201d Glass said. \u201cWhen a lot of people do their part, then great things can happen. It\u2019s just very fulfilling.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tallahassee also has a local chapter for 100 Men Who Care. It follows the same structure as the women\u2019s organization.<\/p>\n
The men\u2019s chapter has around 60 members and is looking for more.<\/p>\n
