CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK) \u2014 Thomas Stein’s defense team filed a motion Tuesday afternoon requesting a new trial.<\/p>\n

Stein was found guilty last week<\/a> for the homicide of 15-year-old Kayla Rincon-Miller in Cape Coral two years ago.<\/p>\n

The motion argues there was insufficient evidence to support the trial.<\/p>\n

It also claims the defense was harmed by a key witness changing testimony without notice. The court improperly limited the defense’s ability to call witnesses, according to the motion.<\/p>\n
