Tire marks were visible on the curb following the incident. The City of Cape Coral, in a statement, said, “No one was injured. This was an isolated driver incident involving a vehicle leaving the roadway and entering a pedestrian area. Jaycee Park was designed and constructed in accordance with applicable safety and engineering standards, including pedestrian pathways and traffic flow considerations commonly used in public parks. As with any incident of this nature, the City will review the circumstances and evaluate whether any additional safety enhancements are appropriate.” Despite the incident, visitors at Jaycee Park said they are enjoying the clear view of the Caloosahatchee River and the park\u2019s new amenities.”Driving a vehicle is a deadly weapon.
