MIAMI, Okla. \u2014 A $100,000 outstanding warrant was issued Tuesday for a Miami man accused of running over his wife with his truck.<\/p>\n
Terry Grant, 56, is charged in Ottawa County District Court with second-degree manslaughter in the death of his wife, Cassandra Grant.<\/p>\n
The Medical Examiner\u2019s Office said Cassandra\u2019s injuries were consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle, according to an arrest warrant.<\/p>\n
Grant denied running her over, court records show.<\/p>\n
He called 911 around 7 a.m. to report that he had located his wife, \u201cdeceased in the roadway,\u201d the affidavit states.<\/p>\n
A neighbor, Mike McKee, told investigators he saw Cassandra on May 10 around 5 p.m. when she knocked on his front door asking for a ride.<\/p>\n
McKee described Cassandra as \u201cgassed,\u201d and she was often intoxicated when she came to his residence. He also told investigators that \u201calmost no vehicle drives on that roadway other than he and Terry\u2019s since it is a dead-end street, the affidavit states.<\/p>\n
During the interview with Ottawa County deputies, Grant said he was home by 6 p.m.<\/p>\n
He told Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents that he last saw Cassandra around noon on May 10, and he when he returned home around 6:45 p.m. after running errands, he told OSBI agents his wife was not there. He said he did not see her until the next morning, when he found her in the driveway.<\/p>\n
Grant did tell investigators that \u201cif he did run over Cassandra, he might not have known it because of the condition of the vehicle and the unevenness of the roadway,\u201d the affidavit states.<\/p>\n
However, videos and eyewitness statements differ in their timelines.<\/p>\n
Court records say the city\u2019s Flock cameras captured Grant\u2019s truck on NE Veterans Blvd at 5:52 p.m. on May 10. Investigators say an eyewitness puts Grant at El Arrieo restaurant in Miami that evening, where he drank two margaritas and two shots of tequila.<\/p>\n
An initial cursory exam of Grant\u2019s truck revealed a human hair on the left rear tire and the front right tire, the affidavit states.<\/p>\n
Agents also noticed several vehicle parts that had the dirt knocked off, indicating an object had struck the underside of the vehicle.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese clean areas stood out as the general condition of the F-250 was dirty\/dusty to the touch,\u201d the affidavit stated.<\/p>\n
Next to Cassandra\u2019s body, agents say they located clumps of hair that had been torn from her head, which could explain the hair recovered from the Ford F-250\u2019s tires.<\/p>\n
