Schools and government offices<\/p>\n
Let\u2019s start with the obvious:\u00a0schools, courts, post offices, libraries and city halls will be closed Memorial Day.<\/p>\n
Grocery stores, pharmacies and major retailers<\/p>\n
Forgot to get hot dogs? Coals? Red Solo cups you definitely won\u2019t leave on the beach and will dispose of properly?<\/p>\n
That\u2019s OK, because Costco is the only major retailer that will be closed. <\/p>\n
Otherwise, Aldi, Publix, Target, Trader Joe\u2019s, Walmart and Whole Foods, to name a few, have previously remained open.<\/p>\n
CVS, Navarro and Walgreens will be open but may have reduced hours.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Beaches and parks<\/p>\n
The holiday\u2019s here and you don\u2019t have a plan? <\/p>\n
You can always go to parks and beaches, which will be open in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It’ll be free to enter Florida State parks<\/a> over Memorial Day weekend. <\/p>\n Additionally, Deering Estate<\/a> will offer discounted $8 admission. This is not to be confused with Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, which according to its website<\/a> will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. over the weekend per usual. <\/p>\n Malls<\/p>\n They’re open\u2014and they’ve got sales.<\/p>\n Transit<\/p>\n Miami-Dade\u2019s Metrorail and Metromover<\/a> will run on their normal weekend schedules on Memorial Day. Metrobus and MetroConnect will run on a Sunday schedule. MetroLink does not provide service during county-observed holidays.<\/p>\n
