The investigation revealed Naples entered a fitting room with merchandise and exited wearing clothing and shoes that had not been purchased. He then proceeded through self-checkout without paying and left the store. The total value of the stolen merchandise was $128.99.<\/p>\n<p>On May 13, 2026, at approximately 10:58 p.m., officers responded to a theft in progress at a RaceTrac located at 3010 NE Pine Island Road. Store personnel reported a suspect taking merchandise and leaving without payment. Upon arrival, officers located Naples on the property and detained him.<\/p>\n<p>Surveillance video confirmed Naples took two phone chargers from the store and exited without attempting to pay. The total value of the stolen items was $35.12.<\/p>\n<p>Officers recognized Naples as the suspect from the Target theft the previous day. At the time of his detention, he was wearing clothing stolen during that earlier incident.<\/p>\n<p>During a search incident to arrest, officers located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on Naples.<\/p>\n<p>Naples initially refused to provide his identity. He was later positively identified, and a records check revealed two active Lee County warrants for failure to appear and violation of pre-trial release conditions, both related to prior drug charges.<\/p>\n<p>Naples was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Petit Theft, and the outstanding warrants.
