IT COULD REALLY RUFFLE SOME THINGS UP HERE LOCALLY. THAT’S A VERY DIFFERENT STORY THOUGH. THIS MORNING. NO TORNADOES IN OUR FORECAST. THANKFULLY OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS TIME WE LOOK TO TODAY, WE LOOK TO TOMORROW AND THERE’S SOMETHING THAT STICKS OUT FROM THE OTHERS TODAY. TOMORROW WE’RE NICE AND DRY. IT GIVES US THE OPPORTUNITY TO START TO WARM THOSE TEMPERATURES. 87 FOR THURSDAY, 89 DEGREES ON YOUR FRIDAY. THEN THIS WEEKEND WE START TO DIAL IN THE MOISTURE A LITTLE BIT. WE START TO GET INTO THAT SUMMER’S PATTERN. AND I’VE TOLD YOU ALL WEEK THAT WE WOULD HAVE THE END OF THE WEEK DRY, BUT THAT THE ATMOSPHERE WOULDN’T LET THAT STAY VERY LONG BECAUSE WE’RE GETTING CLOSER AND CLOSER TO THIS ONSET OF THE RAINY SEASON. SO HERE’S THE KIND OF BOTTOM LINE WHILE WE ARE NICE AND DRY, THOSE SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM CHANCES RETURN BECAUSE ATMOSPHERICALLY, THE WET SEASON KEEPS TRYING TO STICK AROUND FOR GOOD. IT TYPICALLY ONSETS AROUND MAY THE 27TH, SO WE’VE GOT ABOUT TWO WEEKS OR SO FROM THAT. TYPICALLY BEGINNING. BUT THE ATMOSPHERE REALLY IS WANTING TO DO THAT. SO LOOKING AHEAD TO THE WEEKEND, SATURDAY IS GOING TO GET THE CHECK MARK AS BEING THE BETTER DAY, NOT BECAUSE OF ANYTHING OTHER THAN ITS OVERALL RAIN. COVERAGE I A LITTLE LOWER THAN SUNDAY. BOTH, THOUGH, HAVE THEM IN THE FORECAST. SO IF YOU’RE HEADING OUT TO THE BEACH THIS WEEKEND, DO WANT TO LET YOU KNOW THAT WE ARE WATCHING BEAUTIFUL TEMPERATURES, BUT RIP CURRENTS ARE GOING TO BE A BIG CONCERN. AS A MATTER OF FACT, THAT REALLY STARTS TODAY, COMES DOWN A SMIDGE TOMORROW, BUT BUILDS BACK TO A HIGH RISK OF RECURRENCE FOR SATURDAY AND OUR SUNDAY. SO WHY WHAT’S GOING ON? WE’VE GOT THIS WEAK FRONT THAT BASICALLY SLIPS THROUGH, TURNS THE WINDS, DOESN’T BRING IN ANY COLD AIR, BUT TURNS THE WINDS ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO DRY US OUT ATMOSPHERICALLY A LITTLE BIT TODAY. A LITTLE BIT FOR TOMORROW. THEN LOOKING AHEAD TO SATURDAY, WE START GETTING THAT MOISTURE BACK IN. AND THEN ESPECIALLY ON SUNDAY, WE HAVE ENOUGH MOISTURE TO REALLY SPREAD THOSE SHOWERS AND STORMS. THIS MORNING. LOOKS LIKE. IS THAT MSC SEASHORE COMING IN? IT’S A BEAUTIFUL MOON. YOU CAN SEE THAT CRESCENT THERE OFF IN THE DISTANCE, PORT CANAVERAL RUSTY’S AT THE PORT TOWER CAM LOOKING JUST FANTASTIC. THE PILOT BOATS ARE IN A BIG OLD SHIP ON AN UPPER 60S TO THE NORTH LOWER 70S THROUGH THE METRO. WE’RE WATCHING A FEW SHOWERS OFF OF OUR EAST COAST, BUT THAT’S IT. SO THROUGH THE DAY TODAY WE BEGIN WITH PLENTY OF CLOUDS, BUT THOSE TEMPERATURES, SLOW AND STEADY, WINS THE RACE INTO THE UPPER RANGE OF THE 80S. IT’S GOING TO BE ABOUT WHERE WE SHOULD BE THIS TIME OF YEAR, AND IT’S GOING TO BE BRIGHT, BEAUTIFUL SUNSHINE. HERE’S FUTURECAST SHOWING MORNING. SOME CLOUDS AROUND LINGERING. BUT THEN THROUGH THE DAY WE DEVELOP A FEW PUFFY CUMULUS CLOUDS. AND THAT’S GOING TO BE IT. WHICH MEANS IF YOU’RE WANTING TO GET INTO THE BACKYARD SWIMMING POOL, THIS IS A GREAT FORECAST. IF YOU’RE HEADING TO THE BEACH TODAY. AGAIN, HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS, BUT THE AIR TEMPERATURES ON THE BEACH SAND WILL BE IN THE LOWER 80S. SO THAT LOOKS GREAT. 87 DAY, 89 TOMORROW. THEN THE SHOWERS AND STORMS GET GOING AND THAT’S GOING TO CONTINUE FOR MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY. EVEN ALONG THE COAST, OUR COASTAL SEVEN DAY FORECAS

Mostly dry today before weekend showers return to Central Florida

   Updated: 5:59 AM EDT May 14, 2026

  Editorial Standards ⓘ

Low clouds in spots this morning made for a damp start on the roads, but all in all it’s a nice setup outside. This afternoon should stay mostly dry with highs in the upper 80s.Tomorrow looks about the same. The next big thing comes this weekend as storms start returning to the forecast while the rainy season tries to turn on.First Warning Weather Stay with WESH 2 online and on-air for the most accurate Central Florida weather forecast.RadarSevere Weather AlertsDownload the WESH 2 News app to get the most up-to-date weather alerts.
