Seminoles Begin Road to OKC in Tallahassee Regional

\n\tThe Noles will begin its chase for its 13th trip to the Women’s College World Series this weekend as they host the Tallahassee Regional.\u00a0
\n\tAs the No. 9 overall seed, FSU will host UCF, Jacksonville State and Stetson this weekend.
\n\tStetson won the ASUN Championship to earn its automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Hatters are 36-20 but played a challenging schedule that featured six games against top 25 teams. Stetson was 0-6 in those games and are 0-11 in games against power four opponents.\u00a0
\n\tUCF will come to the Tallahassee Regional for the third time in the last four seasons. The Knights enter the regional with a 38-16-1 record and a 14-9-1 record in the Big 12. The Knights have seven ranked wins this season including ranked wins over Arizona State (2x), Kansas (2x), Oklahoma State (2x) and LSU.\u00a0
\n\tJacksonville State had a great season with a 45-14 record and 24-3 conference record in the C-USA to sweep the regular season and tournament titles.\u00a0

\nTorres Putting Together One of the Greatest Seasons in College Softball History<\/p>\n
\n\tIsa Torres<\/a> has put together one of the most impressive offensive runs in college softball history this season. \u00a0
\n\tTorres was named the ACC Player of the Year and the ACC Defensive Player of the Year. Torres is just the second Seminole to win both of those awards in the same season, joining Jessi Warren in 2017.\u00a0
\n\tTorres joined Jessi Warren and Sydney Sherrill to win the ACC Defensive Player of the Year award.\u00a0
\n\tTorres went on a record-breaking run where she set the NCAA record for consecutive hits as Torres went 16-for-16 over the course of seven games from March 8-21.\u00a0
\n\tTorres also reached base in 23 consecutive plate appearances which is the third-longest streak in NCAA history and is a new FSU record.\u00a0
\n\tEven after missing eight games, Torres is still fourth in the country with 90 hits.\u00a0
\n\tTorres is third in the country with a .542 batting average and is fourth in the country with a .605 on base percentage.
\n\tTorres also ranks eighth in the country with a 1.012 slugging percentage. \u00a0
\n\tIn the March 6 win at Coastal Carolina, Torres set a school record with six hits in six at-bats for the Seminoles.\u00a0
\n\tTorres is just the third Seminole to record over five hits in a game and is the first Division I player since 2017 to record six hits in a seven-inning game.\u00a0
\n\tOver the course of her career, Torres is hitting .440 which ranks fifth among active DI players but is first among DI players that have recorded over 500 at-bats.\u00a0
\n\tTorres also shines defensively as she has committed just one error in 164 chances.\u00a0
\n\tTorres is the only shortstop in the country and one of just two middle infielders to have one or fewer errors in 150+ chances.\u00a0
\n\tAgainst Dartmouth, Torres hit an inside-the-park home run to end the game in six innings. Torres was the first Seminole to hit an inside-the-park home run since Carsyn Gordon on May 19, 2018.\u00a0
\n\tTorres had a record season in 2025 as she broke the FSU record with a .436 batting average.\u00a0
\n\tMaybe the most impressive stat in Torres’ 2025 season was that she struck out just five times in 218 at bats.\u00a0
\n\tTorres tallied 95 hits in 2025 which was the third most in FSU history.
\n\tTorres was a Top 10 Finalist for the USA Softball Player of the Year award and was a unanimous Preseason All-American.\u00a0

\nFSU’s Offense Proving to be One of Nation’s Best Again<\/p>\n
\n\tFSU has only been known for its success in the circle, but the offense has been one of the nation’s best the past couple of seasons and has caught fire once again this season.
\n\tFSU leads in the country in doubles, second in total sac flies, 10th in batting average, 10th in triples and 13th in hits.\u00a0
\n\tFSU is averaging 7.42 runs per game which ranks 16th in the country.\u00a0
\n\tIn 2025, FSU finished in the top 10 in the country in batting average, hits, RBI, runs per game and triples.\u00a0
\n\tFSU scored the fourth-most runs in school history last season and had the fourth-most hits in school history. The Noles also hit the third-most home runs in school history last season.\u00a0

\nNoles Have Turned the Corner to Become Dominant in the Circle<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Florida State pitching staff took some punches in a three-game sweep at Stanford on April 10-12 but have responded in a big way.\u00a0
\n\tIn those three games against Stanford, FSU allowed 22 runs and surrendered 22 walks compared to just 18 strikeouts. In 14 games since, six games against top 10 offenses, the pitching staff has allowed just 22 runs, 31 walks but has struck out 72.\u00a0
\n\tIn its last six games, the Noles have allowed just one earned run.\u00a0
\n\tAshtyn Danley<\/a> has led the charge in the resurgence as the junior has allowed just one earned run in her last 24.2 innings and has struck out 23 compared to just five walks.\u00a0
\n\tJazzy Francik<\/a> has also been great with a 1.27 ERA in her last 49.2 innings.\u00a0

\nSeeing Double(s) and Triple(S)<\/p>\n
\n\tOne thing about the Noles is that if they can get extra bases, they will.\u00a0
\n\tFSU has been one of the nation’s best teams at hitting doubles the past five seasons and this year is no different.\u00a0
\n\tFSU has ranked in the top 25 in doubles every year for the past five seasons and has ranked in the top 10 in doubles in three of those seasons. FSU led the nation in doubles in 2023.\u00a0
\n\tThis year, FSU leads the nation with 114 doubles and is chasing the school record of 122 doubles which was set in 2023.\u00a0
\n\tMarin Heller<\/a>, Isa Torres<\/a> and Ashtyn Danley<\/a> have combined to 49 doubles and all rank in the top 12 of the ACC in total doubles.\u00a0
\n\tFSU has also been great at getting three bags this season.\u00a0
\n\tFSU ranks 10th in the country with 20 triples.\u00a0
\n\tIsa Torres<\/a> leads the ACC and is 17th in the country with six triples.\u00a0
\n\tLast season, FSU finished seventh in the country with 21 triples.\u00a0

\n\tOne of FSU’s most improved areas this season has been in the field.\u00a0
\n\tSo far this season, FSU holds a .984 fielding percentage which ranks third in the country and first in the ACC.
\n\tFSU has committed just 23 errors in 1,533 chances.\u00a0
\n\tFSU is also one of the best teams in the country in turning double plays. FSU has turned 31 double plays this season which leads the ACC and is eighth in the country. FSU’s 31 double plays is the fourth-most in school history. The school record is 34 double plays which was set in the 2018 season.\u00a0
\n\tLast season, FSU had a .963 fielding percentage that ranked 131st in the country and 10th in the ACC.\u00a0

\nFSU Freshmen Continue to Shine<\/p>\n
\n\tLonni Alameda<\/a> expected big things out of the freshmen class this season, and they have delivered so far.\u00a0
\n\tFreshmen Marin Heller<\/a>, Makenna Sturgis<\/a>, Anna Hinde<\/a> and Hayley Griggs<\/a> have combined to hit .326 with 17 home runs and 124 RBI.\u00a0
\n\tCoach Alameda started four freshmen on opening day for the first time in her time at Florida State. FSU and NC State are the only P4 programs to start four true freshmen on opening day.\u00a0
<\/p>\n
\nBeachum Continues to be One of Nation’s Most Dangerous Bats<\/p>\n
\n\tJaysoni Beachum<\/a> has become one of the nation’s most dangerous bats in all of the country and looks to be back to her normal self in 2026.
\n\tSo far in 2026, Beachum is hitting .404 with eight home runs and a team-leading 61 RBI.\u00a0
\n\tBeachum has reached base safely in her last 45 games which is tied for the second-longest streak in FSU history. Maddie O’Brien holds the school record with 50-consecutive games where she reached base.\u00a0
\n\tBeachum has also been walked 51 times this season giving her a .548 on base percentage. Beachum has drawn 0.89 walks per game which is second in the ACC and 16th in the country.
\n\tIn three seasons, Beachum holds a .374 batting average with 35 home runs and 172 RBI.\u00a0
\n\tBeachum’s 35 home runs is tied for eighth all-time in FSU history and her 172 RBI ranks seventh in FSU history.\u00a0
\n\tAfter winning the NFCA Freshman of the Year award in 2024, Beachum’s numbers took a dip, but she was still very effective as she hit 11 home runs and 45 RBI.\u00a0
\n\tIn her freshman season, Beachum hit .417 which is the fourth-best mark in FSU history.\u00a0
\n\tAlso in her freshman campaign, Beachum broke the freshman record with 66 RBI and had the second-most home runs as a freshman in FSU history with 16.\u00a0
<\/p>\n
\nAshtyn “Do It All” Danley<\/p>\n
\n\tAshtyn Danley<\/a> has been doing a little bit of everything as of late and has made her case as one of the best two-way players in the country.
\n\tDanley has taken a huge jump offensively this season and is hitting .351 with eight home runs and 50 RBI. Her home run and RBI totals are both career highs.\u00a0
\n\tDanley has also been great in the circle this season, Danley is 12-1 with 34 appearances in the circle and holds a 2.04 ERA. Danley has also recorded four saves.\u00a0
\n\tDanley has allowed just one earned run her last 24.2 innings.\u00a0
\n\tDanley was spectacular in ACC play with a 1.40 ERA that leads the conference.
\n\tIn three seasons with the Garnet and Gold, Danley holds a 44-9 record and a 2.39 ERA in 336.2 innings.\u00a0
\n\tDanley made a huge jump between her freshman and sophomore seasons in the circle as she posted a 1.60 ERA last season after a 3.20 ERA in her freshman season.\u00a0
\n\tDanley’s 1.60 ERA last season ranked 11th in the country and was second behind Francik in the ACC.
\n\tIn her last seven appearances of 2025, Danley allowed just one earned run over the course of 20.1 innings.\u00a0

\nFrancik Finding Success in the Circle Again<\/p>\n
\n\tJazzy Francik<\/a> has picked up right where she left off in her freshman campaign in 2025.\u00a0
\n\tSo far this season, Francik has a 22-2 record and a 1.75 ERA.
\n\tFrancik’s 22 wins leads the ACC and is 10th in the entire country.\u00a0
\n\tFrancik was named the ACC Pitcher of the Year and was the ACC Tournament MVP. Francik picked up two wins in the ACC Tournament and allowed just one earned run in 11.2 innings.\u00a0
\n\tFrancik threw her fourth career no-hitter against Boston College on May 1. Francik is the first FSU player since Meghan King to have four or more career solo no-hitters .
\n\tFrancik won back-to-back ACC Pitcher of the Week awards to start the season. Francik is the first FSU pitcher to win back-to-back ACC Pitcher of the Week awards since Meghan King in 2019.\u00a0
\n\tOn opening week, Francik picked up three wins, did not allow a run in 17 innings and threw a no-hitter on opening night against Samford.\u00a0
\n\tFrancik’s no-hitter against Samford was the second no-hitter on opening day in FSU history. Francik joined Julie Larsen who threw a no-hitter against West Florida on opening day in 1986.\u00a0
\n\tFrancik’s 17 consecutive scoreless innings was the longest streak to start a season since Meghan King in 2019. King threw 18 scoreless innings to start the season.\u00a0
\n\tFrancik finished 2025 with a 1.51 ERA which was the lowest ERA in the ACC and the lowest ERA of any freshman in the country.\u00a0
\n\tFrancik finished with a 10-3 record and pitched 92.2 innings.\u00a0
\n\tFrancik recorded eight saves which was a freshman record at FSU and the second-most in school history.

\n\tMakenna Sturgis<\/a> did not have the flashy recruiting rankings compared to her classmates but has been a reliable bat and glove for the Noles.\u00a0
\n\tSturgis has hopped in at second base in the last nine games in place of Marin Heller<\/a> and has not committed an error. Sturgis has played primarily outfield this season but was recruited to Florida State as a middle infielder.\u00a0
\n\tSturgis is hitting .344 this season with three home runs and 31 RBI.\u00a0

\nAnna Hinde<\/a> Off to Hot Start in Garnet and Gold Career<\/p>\n
\n\tAnna Hinde<\/a> has had no troubles adapting to the college game so far in her young career.\u00a0
\n\tHinde is hitting .340 and has reached base in 47 out of the 57 games this season and has recorded a hit in 39 out of the 57 games.
\n\tHinde has hit seven home runs and 40 RBI.\u00a0
\n\tHinde went on an 8-game hitting streak from Feb. 12-21 which included games against No. 1 Texas Tech, No. 7 UCLA, No. 3 Tennessee and No. 9 Alabama.\u00a0

\nCoacha Reaches 1,000 Career Wins<\/p>\n
\n\tCoach Alameda reached another milestone on March 29 against Clemson as Alameda recorded her 1,000th career win.\u00a0
\n\tAlameda is the 12th active head coach to reach the 1,000 win milestone.\u00a0
\n\tFSU is one of just two programs (FSU and Tennessee) to have had two coaches who have reached 1,000 wins. JoAnne Graf recorded 1,186 wins in 25 seasons.\u00a0

\n\tThe Seminoles have been the queens of the ACC ever since Coach Alameda has been on campus since 2009.\u00a0
\n\tFSU has won the ACC Regular Season Championship in 9 out of the last 13 seasons and the ACC Tournament Championship in 9 out of the last 12 seasons.
\n\tCoach Alameda has lost just 13 ACC series in her 18 years at Florida State.\u00a0

\nNoles Dominate ACC Awards<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Florida State softball team cleaned up the ACC yearly awards as the Noles won four out of the five major awards while also putting eight on the All-ACC Teams.\u00a0
\n\tIsa Torres<\/a> was named the ACC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. Jazzy Francik<\/a> was named the ACC Pitcher of the Year, and head coach Lonni Alameda<\/a> was named the ACC Coach of the Year.\u00a0
\n\tThis is just the second time in school history that FSU has won four or more of the ACC awards joining the 2017 team.\u00a0
\n\tThe Noles were also well represented on the All-ACC teams as they tied the school record (2023, 2024, 2026) with eight selections.\u00a0
\n\tTorres, Francik and Jaysoni Beachum<\/a> all earned First Team All-ACC honors while Ashtyn Danley<\/a>, Shelby McKenzie<\/a> and Marin Heller<\/a> all earned Second Team All-ACC honors. Anna Hinde<\/a> and Hayley Griggs<\/a> rounded out the selections with Third Team All-ACC honors. Griggs, Hinde and Heller were also named to the ACC All-Freshmen Team.
