TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) \u2014 One of the four men found guilty in the deadly shooting<\/a> of Jacksonville rapper Julio Foolio outside a Tampa hotel in June 2024, Sean Gathwright, cried in the courtroom during the sentencing phase of his trial on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Gathwright\u2019s sister testified, saying she and her brother grew up together and were never apart.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just miss my brother,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Gathwright began to cry after his sister described their childhood and her continued communication with him. She confirmed they grew up with positive role models.<\/p>\n

He took the stand after his sister and mother spoke about his upbringing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not here to dispute anything,\u201d Gathwright said. \u201cI\u2019m just here to be a man and take responsibility and express my feelings.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said he has taken part in programs while in prison and \u201cread the Bible cover to cover.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel very remorseful,\u201d Gathwright said. \u201cThis is a terrible situation. It has been a traumatic experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

While being cross-examined by Assistant State Attorney Scott Harmon about whether he felt remorse after the shooting, Gathwright said he did not remember how he felt.<\/p>\n

Gathwright, Isaiah Chance, Davion Murphy and Rashad Murphy were all charged<\/a> in connection with the shooting of the rapper, whose real name is Charles Jones, on May 8.<\/p>\n

The sentencing of Alicia Andrews<\/a>, the first defendant convicted in the murder case tied to Jones, was on hold as of Monday.<\/p>\n
