TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Leon County deputy shot an armed suspect while attempting to serve an eviction notice on West Tennessee Street Thursday afternoon, according to the Leon County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
The incident transpired just after 3 p.m. in the 6400 block of West Tennessee Street, an LCSO spokesperson confirmed to WCTV.<\/p>\n
In a social media post around 4:40 p.m., the sheriff\u2019s office said LCSO deputies were attempting to serve an eviction notice in that area.<\/p>\n
However, a man involved in the incident was uncooperative and \u201cwas armed with a firearm,\u201d per LCSO.<\/p>\n
A deputy then deployed his taser due to the male suspect not complying with commands, the sheriff\u2019s office spokesperson told WCTV.<\/p>\n

Shortly after, the suspect attempted to draw his firearm just before the deputy drew his and fired an unknown number of shots, according to the LCSO spokesperson.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe deputy responded, shooting and injuring the suspect,\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n
As a result, the male suspect was taken to a local hospital for treatment, where the spokesperson said he is awake and alert.<\/p>\n
