PENSACOLA, Fla. | The UAH softball team earned a dominant 4-0 victory over West Florida on Wednesday afternoon in the NCAA South Regional 2 at the UWF Softball Complex.<\/p>\n

The Chargers struck first in the second inning, breaking through with a big two-out rally. With runners in scoring position, Baylee Darby<\/a>\u00a0linined\u00a0a double to left field that cleared the bases and drove in three runs, giving UAH an early 3-0 lead.<\/p>\n

UAH kept the pressure on and added insurance in the fourth inning when Kylee Smith<\/a> launched a solo home run down the left field line, pushing the lead to 4-0 and putting the Chargers firmly in control.<\/p>\n

West Florida struggled to find rhythm offensively, managing only three singles on the day while striking out nine times against Katie Bracken<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Darby led the offensive effort with her three-RBI double, while Keli Madden<\/a>, Mia Brown<\/a>, and\u00a0Kylie Ballentine<\/a> each turned in multi-hit performances as UAH finished with 10 hits in the win.<\/p>\n

In the circle, Katie Bracken<\/a> (16-10) earned the complete-game shutout victory. She allowed just three hits, struck out nine, and walked two.<\/p>\n
