An analysis of the first-time Bar examination pass rates among law schools accredited by the American Bar Association puts the Jacksonville University College of Law at No. 14 in the nation.<\/p>\n
The study, published in a blog by Paul Caron, dean of the Pepperdine University School of Law, uses an adjusted pass rate that is the sum of the school pass rate and the difference between that school pass rate and the average state pass rate, per the current\u00a0U.S. News methodology: \u201cFirst-time test-takers\u2019 weighted Bar passage rates among all jurisdictions, or states, then added or subtracted the average percentage point difference between those rates and the weighted state average among ABA accredited schools\u2019 first-time test takers in the corresponding jurisdictions.\u201d<\/p>\n
The No.1 school, Stanford University, scored 114.2% in the study. JU\u2019s score was 108.08%, ranking it ahead of NYU, Vanderbilt, North Carolina, Duke, USC and Georgetown among the 194 law schools in the study.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou can quibble with the analysis, but it\u2019s better than a poke in the eye. And we are getting stronger,\u201d said JU College of Law Randall C. Berg Jr. Founding Dean Nick Allard.<\/p>\n
