Because prosecutors sought the death penalty &#8211; allowed in Florida first-degree murder cases &#8211; jurors were tasked with deciding whether the four men should receive life in prison or the death penalty.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Foolio, whose real name was Charles Jones, was celebrating his 26th birthday in Tampa on June 23, 2024, when investigators said he was ambushed and killed outside a Holiday Inn hotel.
