WCTV’s Something Good sponsored by First Florida Credit Union(WCTV\/First Florida Credit Union)<\/p>\nTALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Just months after a colorful crosswalk was painted over outside Sabal Palm Elementary School, Ridgeway Street has a colorful new addition. <\/p>\n
A lengthy banner was unveiled in front of a roaring crowd of students Friday morning. The banner is attached to the front fence of school. <\/p>\n
More good news:<\/p>\n
The art piece includes 138 portraits painted by Sabal Palm students during art class. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt was awesome and I\u2019m very proud of myself,\u201d student Josiah Oliver said. <\/p>\n
Sabal Palm art teacher Brenna Alonzo came up with the theme for the mural: \u2018community is family.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cIt just kind of came to me that everybody has different families, but when we come to school, it\u2019s like one big family,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

Alonzo was impressed with the results. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis is like a first chance for them to be published and feel what it\u2019s like to have people see your work,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd that is something I think they can take with them forever.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Knights Creative Communities Institute, or KCCI, spearheaded the effort. <\/p>\n
