UPDATE at 3 p.m.<\/p>\n

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) \u2014 Power has been restored for the majority of the customers affected by Saturday\u2019s outage in Jacksonville.<\/p>\n

As of around 3 p.m., the outage on Morton Avenue that left hundreds without power has been removed from the Ameren Outage Map<\/a>.<\/p>\n

WCIA reached out to the Jacksonville\/Morgan County EMA for more information but did not immediately hear back.<\/p>\n

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) \u2014 Hundreds of people in Jacksonville are without power Saturday afternoon after a storm snapped a power pole in half.<\/p>\n

The Jacksonville\/Morgan County EMA shared in a Facebook post<\/a> that the damage was reported on the west end of Morton Avenue.<\/p>\n

WEATHER NOW: Stormy Saturday, hot Sunday, and a pair of severe weather chances soon <\/a><\/p>\n

The Ameren Outage Map<\/a> further showed starting around 12:30 p.m., hundreds of customers are without power in that area, with the cause listed as \u201cpole damage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Several business were affected by the outage, and the entrance to the city\u2019s Walmart is blocked off at this time, the EMA said.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlease avoid the area to allow emergency crews and utility personnel room to work safely,\u201d officials added.<\/p>\n

WCIA reached out to the Jacksonville\/Morgan County EMA for more information but did not immediately hear back. We will share updates as we learn more.<\/p>\n
