JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL)\u00a0\u2013\u00a0 Following the conclusion of spring practice, ETSU football head coach Will Healy officially announced his 2026 coaching assignments.<\/p>\n
The revamped staff features seven coaches in new roles, including four recent additions. Healy expressed confidence that these new hires will maintain the program\u2019s momentum despite recent staff departures.<\/p>\n
The defensive line will be led by J.C. Price, a former NFL draft pick and All-American at Virginia Tech. Price brings over 20 years of coaching experience from high-level programs such as Marshall and James Madison, where he won an FCS National Championship. Joining him in the athletic department is Rodney Hill, the new Assistant AD for Football Sports Performance.<\/p>\n
Hill arrives from the University of Florida with an extensive resume that includes several Power Conference schools and NFL experience with the Bills, Lions, and Giants.<\/p>\n
The Buccaneers also promoted two familiar faces to new roles. Paul Potter, who serves as the team\u2019s video coordinator, has been named special teams coach. Potter previously worked with specialists at Chowan University before joining the ETSU staff in 2024. Additionally, Chris Davis Jr. transitions from player to coach, taking on the new defensive ends coach role. After earning All-SoCon honors as a standout defender for the Bucs in 2025, the twenty-four-year-old now becomes one of the youngest position coaches in Division I football.<\/p>\n
