The viral bagel shop, PopUp Bagels, known for its simple menu and grip, rip and dip technique, is opening two Florida locations in the coming weeks and dozens more are coming to the Sunshine State.<\/a><\/p>\n

A location in Winter Park will open May 29. It will be followed by a June 5 opening of the Rockledge location,<\/a> which is in the Viera area of Brevard County.<\/p>\n

Florida\u2019s first PopUp Bagels opened <\/a>in Tampa in September 2025. Less than a year later, there will be eight in Florida.<\/p>\n

Kal Gullapalli, PopUp Bagels partner and CEO of Built Different Brands, bought the franchise rights to PopUp Bagels in Florida north of Jupiter. He plans to open at least 30 locations throughout the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re just trying to find the best real estate,\u201d he told USA Today Network.<\/p>\n

Where else in Florida could PopUp Bagels open?<\/p>\n

Tory Bartlett, CEO of PopUp Bagels, told USA Today Network-Florida his team knew one of the reasons Florida would be a good market was because of the amount northeasters moving to the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe knew our customers were there. We knew people knew who were are,\u201d Bartlett said. \u201cWe thought it would be a very lucrative market and we\u2019ve been right so far.\u201d<\/p>\n

Two Miami locations and a Sarasota location are \u201cin progress,\u201d and Gullapalli said he plans to open \u201cno less than three\u201d in the Jacksonville area.<\/a> Company officials also said they have been looking in Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Coconut Grove and Coral Springs.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn less than four years we should have 40 bagel shops in Florida,\u201d Bartlett said.<\/p>\n

Where is PopUp Bagels located in Florida?What is PopUp Bagels known for?<\/p>\n

There are just five bagel flavors on the menu: everything, sesame, salt, plain and poppy seed.<\/p>\n

Aside from the bagels, the schmears are a must. The standard three flavors are plain, slated butter and scallion. There also are two rotating flavors each week. Past flavors include Cranberry Butter with Ocean Spray, Pickle de Gallo Schmear with Grillo’s Pickles and Mac & Cheese Cream Cheese with Kraft.<\/p>\n

There are no sandwiches on the menu, and coffee was added a few years ago.<\/p>\n

PopUp Bagels known for smaller, non-sliced bagels<\/p>\n

The advice when eating a PopUp Bagel is to \u201cGrip, Rip and Dip.\u201d<\/p>\n

PopUp Bagels does not slice its goods. Instead, the suggestion is to grip the warm, round bagel, rip off a hunk and dip it into one of the schmears. The size also is smaller than an average bagel.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want people to have more than one bagel,\u201d Bartlett said. \u201cWe want you to have a plain and a salt and we give you the schmeer and we want you to enjoy that and try different things.\u201d<\/p>\n
