South Floridians can expect to see showers and thunderstorms overnight and during the early mornings, followed by sticky afternoons this week through Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Miami.<\/p>\n
The highest chances for rain \u2014 around 30% to 40% \u2014 will arrive from 5 a.m. to noon during the work week, according to NWS meteorologist Sammy Hadi. The pattern is fairly consistent across Miami-Dade and Broward counties.<\/p>\n
It appears there will be roughly less than an inch of rainfall over the next seven days, but there may be a couple of pockets that pick up 2 to 3 inches, Hadi said. But the sun will come out in the afternoon, with high temperatures in the upper 80s.<\/p>\n
Those who plan to enjoy the sun should be aware of a high risk of dangerous rip currents for all east coast beaches through Monday.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s getting more humid and hot outside, Hadi said. While the region won\u2019t be seeing record-high temperatures during the next few days, there could be a moderate heat risk because of high humidity values. There will be a \u201cgreat ocean breeze\u201d by the coast, but the inland area may feel hot in the afternoon.<\/p>\n
Make sure to take breaks from the sun in the shade or in air conditioning, Hadi said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf there is ample sunshine and you\u2019re outdoors, make sure you’re hydrated,\u201d Hadi said. \u201cMake sure you wear loose-fitting clothing.\u201d<\/p>\n
