A family is asking for prayers after a woman’s mother and aunt were killed in a crash on Interstate 75<\/a> in Broward, and her 9-month-old daughter was left critically injured.<\/p>\n

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened on Mother’s Day, around 10:45 a.m. on I-75 northbound near Mile Marker 20.<\/p>\n

NBC6 on Saturday spoke with Felipe Guzman and M\u00f3nica Villarreal.<\/p>\n

“We started the day beautiful, man,” Guzman said. “The girls got all dressed in yellow. You know, my wife\u2019s first Mother\u2019s Day.\u201d<\/p>\n

During Villarreal\u2019s first Mother\u2019s Day, she was surrounded by her mother and aunt.<\/p>\n

She said they flew in from Ecuador to help her with the baby because Villarreal recently underwent surgery for thyroid cancer.<\/p>\n

The day was meant to be beautiful, but it turned into tragedy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember my wife screaming,\u201d Guzman said.<\/p>\n

This family was inside one of the five vehicles in the major crash on I-75.<\/p>\n

\u201cI keep hearing my wife screaming, ‘Where\u2019s my mother?’ because she was ejected out of the car,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Florida Highway Patrol officials said a driver had traveled to the area to assist a family member whose vehicle had become disabled and was on the wrong side of the roadway when the crash happened.<\/p>\n

Two women, ages 58 and 60, who were occupants in a Honda Pilot, were killed as a result, FHP officials said.<\/p>\n

Deputies said four people were taken to the hospital by ground, while the child, who is less than a year old, was airlifted after suffering from cardiac arrest.<\/p>\n

FHP officials said the child was in critical condition.<\/p>\n

Authorities arrested one of the drivers involved, Cira Wuinones Lewis.<\/p>\n

Investigators said she was driving with a suspended license and was in the country illegally.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it should be more than a suspended license,” Guzman said. “Two beautiful souls passed. My daughter\u2019s in critical, and other people were injured.\u201d<\/p>\n

This family is now asking for prayers.<\/p>\n

\u201cWere praying for a miracle, Guzman said. <\/p>\n

A live prayer service will be held on TikTok at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n
