A woman concerned about a fellow traveler’s parenting methods not only confronted a man in the airport, but went so far as to pepper-spray him to stop what she viewed as child abuse.

The interfering “Karen” proudly defended her actions, even as she was being handcuffed by police. Viewers of this newly posted video have a lot of questions about the incident, including how pepper spray made its way into the airport. Airport travel is stressful enough without the threat of violent travelers turning up in the halls of major travel hubs. TSA is notoriously strict about its screenings, going so far as to pat down travelers who perspire too much. So how did the pepper spray incident occur? Here’s what we know.

Irate Traveler Admits “I Did Spray Him!” In Pepper Spray Incident

On February 27, 2025, bodycam footage recorded the aftermath of a violent incident at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport. The officer arrives after a man was reportedly sprayed with pepper spray by another traveler. There’s little mystery to this part of the story, as the woman confidently approaches the officer admitting that she sprayed the man.

“That guy’s breaking that kid’s hand,” she says, when approached by officers.

“The guy says he’s the kid’s father, right? He explained to officers that his family was rushing to get to their gate on time to travel to Puerto Rico, and the child was agitated because he was being pulled along.

Unrepentant, the woman argues with officers that she did the right thing and would do it again.

“If I go anywhere tomorrow or the next day and I see somebody doing that to their kid, I’m going to pepper spray them closer to their eyes and mouth next time,” she boldly says.

The video concludes as officers handcuff the woman and remove her from the airport.

Others Weigh In On The Incident

Davslens – davslens.com / Shutterstock

Two witnesses approached the officer to say that the man was squeezing his son’s hand extremely hard. By their account, the woman with the pepper spray approached the family and told them that the way they were holding their son’s hand was unacceptable, and someone needed to call the cops on them. An altercation ensued, and the woman proceeded to get out her pepper spray.

By another account, the woman overreacted.

“She was agitated.
