{"id":275405,"date":"2026-05-18T17:48:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-18T17:48:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/275405\/"},"modified":"2026-05-18T17:48:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T17:48:08","slug":"bso-man-who-works-at-juvenile-justice-facility-accused-of-sexual-battery-on-inmate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/275405\/","title":{"rendered":"BSO: Man who works at Juvenile Justice facility accused of sexual battery on inmate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text text--small text--normal text--primary\">Published:\u00a0May 18, 2026 at 12:19 PM<\/p>\n<p>lead-art-block.fullscreen-enterExpand<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"eager\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/C7WO6YKCUBBSDNHZBAOBTMPE6Q.jpg\"  width=\"1280\" height=\"720\"\/>(Broward Sheriff&#8217;s Office\/Google Maps) <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">POMPANO BEACH, Fla.  \u2014 A man who works at a Department of Juvenile Justice facility was arrested Monday morning on accusations that he sexually battered an inmate, the Broward Sheriff\u2019s Office confirmed to Local 10 News.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A spokeswoman for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice told Local 10 News in an email that the suspect, Jess Delgardo, 32, is not employed by the agency, but is employed by a contracted provider that operates at the Pompano Youth Academy. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">According to BSO spokesman Carey Codd, the report against Delgardo was made at about 10 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">He said BSO deputies and Special Victims Unit detectives responded to the DJJ facility, located at 3090 North Powerline Road in Pompano Beach, to investigate the accusations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">They then arrested Delgardo on charges of sexual battery by a person in position of authority and sexual misconduct between detention facility employees and inmates. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Local 10 News has requested a copy of Delgardo\u2019s arrest report.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">As of Monday afternoon, he was being held at the Broward County Main Jail.
