Yafa Signed Jewels, a purveyor of museum-quality vintage signed jewelry, has opened a 3,000-square-foot shop inside Miami\u2019s tony Bal Harbour Shops.<\/p>\n

Yafa also operates a flagship on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, Fla., and a private salon for clients on Fifth Avenue in New York City. Bal Harbour Shops is anchored by Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus and also houses Brioni, Brunello Cucinelli, Chopard and many other luxury stores.<\/p>\n

The Bal Harbour space has a modern aesthetic complemented by subtle Art Deco accents that nod to Miami\u2019s architectural character. The shop is designed to feel more like a luxurious hotel suite rather than a traditional store. Officials told WWD that each jewelry piece is presented as \u201ca work of art\u201d and that the new location operates similar to the Palm Beach store in that clients get greeted by advisers \u201cas they are led through a high-touch shopping experience with tailored guidance into the history of each jewel.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe decision to open in Miami was an organic one,\u201d said Maurice Moradof, Yafa\u2019s chief executive officer and cofounder. \u201cThere is hardly a week that goes by that we aren\u2019t visited by clients that live in or frequent the Miami area.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tyler Moradof, principal of YAFA and Maurice\u2019s son, added: \u201cBal Harbour Shops attracts an international clientele of collectors and has evolved into one of the country\u2019s most desirable shopping destinations. As we continue growing our physical retail presence, we remain committed to creating spaces that are refined yet inviting; this new location will be a clear reflection of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Founded more than 40 years ago by Yafa Moradof and her son, Maurice, the family-run company began as a supplier of rare signed jewels for many of the world\u2019s best-known high jewelry brands. The business now offers signed jewels from the 1930s to the 1980s, including pieces by Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier and Harry Winston.<\/p>\n
